We Are All Enlisted

Come Follow Me 2020: Alma 43-52

Marc DeLuca Season 1 Episode 28

I've been waiting all year to get to the war chapters, and we're finally here - and we have TEN chapters to go through! Accordingly, this is the longest episode yet, but I hope it's worth it for you. I try to describe some of the Nephite and Lamanite tactics through the eyes of a career Soldier, and why those details only reinforce my testimony that the Book of Mormon is an authentic ancient document about real people. Even more, I hope that some of the principles illustrated in the Nephite wars can help us understand how to strengthen our own faith and determination in fighting a relentless enemy who wants to see us destroyed.

  • If you'd like to see the conceptual map that I keep referring to, that can be found at the BYU Virtual Scriptures project here.
  • John Bytheway's talk at the 2006 BYU Education Week on the war chapters is fantastic, especially the part about Amalickiah and Lehonti, which starts at about 18:06. The link to it is here

Enjoy listening, and keep up the fight!
